TM #190 - You've temporarily turned into a child -- what do you do? - You and Me Against The World

TM #190 - You've temporarily turned into a child -- what do you do?

Well, probably the same thing I did when I really was a little kid, I guess.

Mornings were for my Mom knocking on the bedroom door to let me know it was time to get up, and for me just about falling out of the bed because I didn't want to get up. I remember trudging from my room to the bathroom to get ready for school, something that wouldn't be too easy around here since I'm sure little me would never be able to open one of these hatches, and the head doesn't have step-stools for reaching the sink.

Breakfast was usually a bowl of thick gray stuff my Dad called oatmeal-- not the best cook, was Dad-- which means that things haven't changed much. School was mostly a place to hang out with my friends, but I didn't slack there, either. The big deal, though, was recess and the pickup Pyramid games that would spontaneously break out whenever there were a couple of us to play. The same thing would happen right after the last bell, too. I'd bet I could still find some takers around the ship for that.

Homework, Mom fixing supper, pleading with Dad to let me stay up and watch something on television. Typical kid, typical childhood.

And I guess we've made some big changes to those ideas, huh?

Well, the food's not much better than your father's.

Yeah, I know. Some things never change.

At least if you were in the pickup game, I might actually get to play. I have a feeling you were the type to give the clumsy, studious kid a chance.
